The Michigan Dermatological Society, Inc. (MDS) was founded in 1921 for the purposes of furthering the advancement of dermatology in all its branches in Michigan and vicinity and to serve the members through clinical and scientific meetings. MDS also supports the role of dermatologists as primary care physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, serves as an advisory body to health care organizations and promotes quality dermatologic care.
The Michigan Dermatological Society is comprised of over 300 members from all areas of the state, Canada and northern Ohio. While over 95% of these members are physicians, MDS does accept membership from non-physicians, such as Veterinarians, who are specializing in dermatologic care.
The headquarters office of the Michigan Dermatological Society is located in the Michigan State Medical Society building at 120 W. Saginaw, East Lansing, MI 48823.
